This past month the brothers of the Florida Nu Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon planned to once again have an event to give back to those in need. During the holiday season, we had planned and scheduled a toy drive to help collect toys to be able to give to those children in need that may not be able to receive toys on Christmas day. We tabled for about a week on FIU’s campus while advertising on social media so everyone knew where to come out and help contribute to the wonderful cause. Day after day, toys began to pile up and we finally hit the last day of collecting. We were so happy with the turnout and eventually made our way to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital to donate all the toys. We were so happy to be able to host and raise toys for this cause because it really humbles you and makes you realize how many kids aren’t fortunate enough to be able to receive toys on Christmas day like we are all used to. The fact that Nicklaus Children’s Hospital opened up their own drive for anyone that had collected any toys was really nice and made the window of collecting toys even larger where anyone could contribute. When we went there with everything we had collected, it was awesome to see how many other people were there donating toys just like us, and made us so happy to be a part of something so amazing.
