Relay for Life is a community-based fundraising event that aims to raise awareness and funds for cancer research, patient support programs, and advocacy initiatives. This event brings together teams of volunteers to raise funds and bring awareness campus-wide to this cause. Being the team captain for Relay was a truly remarkable experience. Together with the dedicated members of Alpha Omicron Pi, we raised over $2,500 for cancer research and won the Spirit Cup Award. As the team captain, I had the opportunity to witness firsthand the impact that our team and organization made in our community. Alongside my Co-Captain from AOII, I organized fundraisers every Thursday before our chapter meetings. These fundraisers provided an opportunity for our team to engage with the community and raise awareness about the importance of cancer research and support. The commitment of our team members and supporters, including the SigEp brothers and AOII sisters, was truly inspiring. Their collective efforts made a positive impact not just on the research and cure for cancer, but on the lives of individuals and families affected by this disease. I am delighted to mention that many of our brothers, including myself, participated in the Shaveathon event, where we shaved our hair off in support of those affected by cancer. Through our collective efforts, we were able to make a tangible difference in the fight against cancer. However, the impact of our two organizations would not have been possible without the strength and help of my brothers behind me. I am a proud brother of SigEp and I can not wait to see what other ways we can help improve our community and the world.
